Nestled in the scenic beauty of Huerfano County, Colorado, Cuchara Mountain Park offers endless fun for outdoor lovers. This park has a rich history, dating back to when it was a thriving ski destination that attracted thousands of visitors annually. After closing in 2000, the local community rallied together to bring this special place back to life, opening the Parker-Fitzgerald Cuchara Mountain Park for public enjoyment once again.
This unofficial fan site is dedicated to all things Cuchara Mountain Park, highlighting what makes this place so special. From winter snow sports to summer hiking trails, it’s a spot for anyone who loves nature and adventure. We’re passionate about this park, but please remember, this site isn’t officially affiliated with the park. We’re just fans who love to share its wonders!

The Journey to Revive Cuchara Mountain Park
After closing its doors in 2000, Cuchara Mountain Park was in limbo for almost two decades. In 2017, community members came together and raised the funds to acquire the land and bring the park back to life. With the help of the Panadero Ski Corporation, ongoing efforts are in place to fully restore Lift 4 and provide even more amenities. The park has a vision for affordable, family-friendly recreation all year round.
We’re excited to watch this park grow and evolve!
